At Lapanouse
we start on roads with gravel surface into the direction of the Col
de Palassy and reach on a short stage on a street in the valley of the
Olip. We follow in the next village the roads with gravel surface which
lead to the mountain range in the direction of the Puech de Pal in the
south of the valley of the Aveyron. Deeply tracked sections and the
soon rising road make great demands on the driver of the two cylinders.
Having reached on the mountain range shady forest paths and partly deep
tracked paths (photo 2) lead us away from the valley of the Aveyron
into the direction of the south of the mountain range. From the mountain
range you have a lovely view to the valley of the Aveyron and to the
mountains of the Aubrac (photo 1). On little twisting roads (2,5
km) and varied dirt roads (4,2 km), which lead through a hilly landscape,
we approach the border of the mountain range. From here you have a lovely
view (photo 3) to a neighbour valley of the valley of the Tarn.
Until short before the viaduc of Verrières we follow this valley
on twisting roads with gravel surface, which becomes later on a "gravel
motorway". At the end of the next village a fine single trail waits
for us, which is only right for one cylinder enduros and which leads
to the 'Causse Rouge'. From here you have a lovely view to the viaduct
of Verrieres and the mesas of the valley of the Tarn (photo 4).
The trip follows some kilometres on a twisting road until it leads into
a forest (photo 6).

| On
the forest paths there are several places, where the driver of a two cylinder
motor cycle is demanded after a rain (photo 5).On the hilly plateau
the vegetation becomes sparse, we find now nature ways and roads with
gravel surface.(photo 7).Behind the next village an interesting
single-trail, which can be driven with a two cylinder enduro, waits for
us. After a short connection stage (2,7km) on a little road we continue
the drive on a dirt road by a various rising and descending landscape.
We have from now on a view to the plateau of Lévézou with
its lovely mountain villages and to the valley of the Muze. The following
stage leads us nearly into the valley of the Muze, in order to bring us
back to the plateau by a little road. Here we turn to a montain range,
which continues to the valley of the Tarn. From here we have always lovely
views to the Millau bridge (photo 8). After 2 km on a road with
gravel surface we continue our way on the one cylinder enduros on
a steep and partly narrow dirt road with boulders into the |

valley of the Muze (photo 9). The two cylinder enduros
take the direct way into the valley of the Tarn. Then a little
and twisting road leads us out of the valley to the next mountain village
at the border of the Lévézou. Behind the village within
the next 5 km we take different dirt roads, paths and single-trails, which
go down a twisting way. Heavy 2 cylinder enduros have to take a diversion.
After having reached the next picturesque village, we continue our way
to the next mountain range, where you have a lovely view into the valley
of the Tarn (photo 12). The following descent to the valley of
the Tarn (photo 11) on a single-trail is only right for light enduros,
for there are several difficult sections (stairs of rocks and so on) (photo
10). |

| After
having made a stop with a soft drink on the other side of the Tarn in
a picturesque village, we return to the dirt roads in the mountains (photo
13). We cross a hilly landscape on a mixture of dirt roads and single
trails and little twisting paths and approach the Millau bridge. The drive
up to the Causse of Larzac makes us to overwhelm 311 metres of altitude
on one kilometre. On the hilly Causse of Larzac we arrive on a dirt road
the last highlight, the vantage point to the Millau bridge (photo 14).
Afterwards we take a little twisting road to Millau in order to take a
cup of coffee in one of the many bars. Then we follow the Tarn to the
north. We still see an immense castle which is situated high above the
gorge (photo 15).On our way back we pass a restored stock-room
of wine (photo 16). |
