The first stage of the trip leads on little roads with asphalt (distance 4 km) and dirt roads (distance 12 km), which are mostly relatively easy to handle through a hilly landscape to the "Fontaine de Montaliès" (photo 1). There are 3 or 4 sections, which make greater demands on the motor-cyclist (deep grooves, narrow sharp rising bends, single trails) but which can be overwhelmed by experienced drivers on heavy motor cycles without problem. The following stage takes us to the border of the "Causse de Sauveterre": After a short way on asphalt we continue in various terrain with dirt roads uphill and downhill with lovely views to the neighbour valleys of the Tarn gorges (photo 2). After a last demanding way up we reach at a vantage point (photo 3) with a lovely view all around to the Tarn gorges with the mountains of the Cevennes behind and the mountains of the Aubrac in the north. The following various roads with gravel surface go through forest and meadow in a hilly landscape and afterwards over the "Causse de Sauveterre" and lead us on a relatively steep road in the direction of the Tarn gorges (photo 4). At half of the height to the Tarn gorges we reach on a road

with bends and asphalt, which leads us after 1,3 kilometres to the next village. By leaving the village we chose a road with gravel surface which is partly demanding the driver of a two cylinder enduro and which leads us back to the "Causse de Sauveterre". Here we reach a road which we leave after 0,4 km. The following road with gravel surface (3,7 km) leads us to a wooded plateau, after 1,4 km heavy enduros have to take the diversion, because the road into the Tarn gorges becomes a single trail. The following single trail (3,2 km) leads us into the Tarn gorges. The trail has partly deep gravel, is situated next to the border and has narrow hairpin bends. You can enjoy a fantastic view into the valley (photo 5). After having reached the Tarn valley, the trip lets us follow the Tarn for the next 1,5 km until the next village. Here we follow the road in the direction of the "Causse Noir". After it we leave soon the road and follow the next 2,6 km on a single trail in the direction of the "Causse Noir", which is partly demanding also the 1 cylinder enduros (photo 6 and photo 7). The following 10 km lead us on wide gravel and twisting roads through a forest. A varied way of gravel, nature and sand leads us to the rock of "Roquesaltes", with a single trail in it (photo 8).

At the rock of "Roquesaltes" (photo 9) you have a lovely view in all directions (photo10). The following distance as a mixture of wide roads with gravel surface and single trails and a bit asphalt first leaves the direct way to the Dourbie gorges in order to return later to the border of the Dourbie gorges (photo 11). The following distance offers lovely views to the Dourbie gorges and a very interesting road. First a wide road with gravel surface leads us at the foot of a rock face. From here we change to a fine single trail, which always leads us next to the border of the Dourbie gorges (photo 12 and photo 13). This section is in places demanding and only right for light enduros. This stage ends in a deserted village, where the time seems to have stopped. The following connection stage leads us into the Dourbie gorges.

In a good situated mountain village we take a soft drink in a bar with the view into the Dourbie gorges. From here a 3,0 km rising single trail leads us to the "Causse Begon". This trail makes great demands on the driver (photo 14) and it is only right for one cylinder enduros. Afterwards a gravel road of 1,2 km through the forest leads us to the super highlight of this section. This is a vantage point at the border of the "Causse Begon", which slopes nearly 500 m into the Dourbie valley. From here you have a fantastic view to the entrance of the Dourbie gorges (photo 15) and to the valley of the Dourbie with the mountains of the Cevennes behind (photo 16). The following descent on a single trail into the valley of the Dourbie makes again great demands on the driver. The first 1,1 km are relatively steep with boulders. Reaching the valley

of the Dourbie we make a stop in the next village in a bar on a place next to a nice market hall. Afterwards our trip leads us by lovely roads with gravel surface through the mountains of the Cevennes to the national parc, where we follow the "route forestier" (photo 17) to the pass "Col de l'Homme Mort". There are always lovely views to the montains and valleys of the Cevennes (photo 18). The return to our pension leads us on little twisting roads through the Trevezel and Jonte gorges.
